About The Role

Business Development at Coalition is about creating and maintaining relationships with our brokerage partners and customers. We are looking for early stage insurance professionals to help us develop and empower the success of our partners by matching Coalition's proposition, innovations, and capabilities with a broker's business goals to enable joint success. This role will be ideal for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career with a focus on sales & account management.

The role will be predominantly remote with an expectation of regular travel to broker offices to focus on increasing our penetration into the insurance market in the north of England & Scotland. Must be easily commutable to these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Generate appointments by means of proactive outbound prospecting and drive activity management in an effort to qualify and market our solutions to potential & existing customers
  • Work directly with Business Development colleagues to support the knowledge, comfort & usage of our Broker Service Portal by brokers in the regional offices of our large & major broking partners
  • Own account management for independent local brokers
  • Increase the volume of submissions & binds by use of strong selling and influencing techniques to drive revenue
  • Log, track, and maintain outbound activity within our CRM system
  • Work closely with Business Development colleagues and attend strategic broker meetings as required

Requirements

  • 2+ years of insurance experience within financial lines in a broker facing role
  • Strong in-person, phone, and written customer communication experience
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Experience to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals
  • Aptitude to thrive in a startup environment, being proactive and self-motivated
  • Prior track record of achievement & delivery in positions with accountability

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of workflow systems and their application to customer business process improvement
  • Experience of giving formal and informal presentations to colleagues & customers
  • Relationship management experience
  • Strong computer experience & knowledge of CRM systems
