Software Test Engineer

What are we looking for?

A motivated Software Test Engineer with experience in manual application testing. You will work with the QA and development teams to plan and execute tests in a fast-paced agile team. You value quality, take feedback well, and are self-motivated with a growth mindset. You are excited to take on new challenges, solve problems, implement test strategies, and jump into the details of the test execution. Familiarity with Python or another programming language is a plus, but we trust you will be motivated to dive in and learn these once you are here.

What will you test?

Multi Media LLC builds the platform that runs one of the largest live-cam streaming sites in the world. We handle tens of millions of transactions each day and are continuing to grow at a fast pace. You'll be assuring quality for the systems and services on the platform to enable broadcasters to interact with users in a fun interactive environment. Your work will have an immediate impact on millions of users.

You will work in a very dynamic environment and have an opportunity to work on different parts of the platform. This includes working on features that are supported across all major web browsers, mobile devices, smart TVs, and video game consoles.

Responsibilities:

• Review code changes to understand what needs to be tested and be self-driven to pick up the skills necessary to do this
• Strategically isolate code changes for testing, sometimes by manipulating code
• Write and execute targeted test plans
• Learn to update staging servers with testing branches
• Troubleshoot issues using logs, as well as internal and external resources
• Identify opportunities for improvement on the QA team and implement those ideas
• Reproduce customer problems and provide solutions to the tech support team
• Potential to get involved with test automation projects

Requirements:

• 4+ years of manual web application testing experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Self-motivated to learn new technologies
• Experience creating and implementing testing strategies for complex projects
• Demonstrable ability to write organized and targeted test plans
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with a programming language, preferably Python or Javascript
• Experience with Selenium and automated testing
