Senior Quality Engineer

One sunny Barcelona morning, two designers sat down to build a beautiful lead gen form for a bathroom company's showroom. They ended up reimagining the data collection experience, and realized it was one idea they wouldn't flush down the toilet. Today, Typeform is a team of over 300 people from more than 35 countries, with offices in Barcelona, Spain and San Francisco, US.

About the team

Right now the whole Typeform is over 300 people and the whole engineering team is around 100.

In Engineering there are 6 big groups of the teams or tribes. Inside those interdisciplinary teams, there are small teams (from 2 up to 6 people), each of them is focusing on the different parts of the product.

About the role

At Typeform we believe in quality teams that support and empower our development teams to bring software better and faster. Our Quality Engineers do not act as mere gatekeepers. They are there to raise the quality bar through measuring and coaching. This is a hands-on technical leadership position with no people management but responsible for helping our development teams increasing the quality of the software they build.

The QA lead will be embedded in all QA Lead/engineers team reporting to the QA Manager

Here's what you'll do:

• You will help teams spot strengths and weaknesses through metrics.
• You will mentor them in testing skills and techniques.
• Improve their processes and software development life cycle.
• Offer manual and automated testing support.
• Design and collaborate in company-wide projects with your Quality peers.
• You'll help to improve what's the quality of the software output by testing features, tracking defects.
• Identify areas for improvement in skills and processes such as story definition, exploratory or automated testing.

About you

Here's what we're after:

• 5+ years of experience in the Software industry.
• 2+ years of experience working on SaaS or Product company.
• 1+ year experienced in Agile processes, CD/CI, user stories, acceptance criteria, testing pyramid.
• Have excellent end-to-end understanding of QA processes and techniques to improve quality into the product.
• Experience in manual testing, like exploratory testing.
• At least end-to-end testing with tools like Cypress, Puppeteer, or Codecept.io. Selenium is welcome too.
• Understanding of BDD (Behaviour Driven Development).
• Knowledge of at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python will make us dribble)

We also recruit remotely in the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy Poland, Portugal, Romania, Estonia and the UK as long as you do not require visa sponsorship.
