About the role

As part of the Financial Crimes Investigations team, this role will involve performing Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of cases and Suspicious Activity Reports prepared by our investigators. The results of these QA reviews will be critical to enhancing our investigations processes. The ideal candidate has strong investigative and analytical skills to be able to drive individual QA reviews to resolution. Additionally, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills in working with team members and cross-functional stakeholders.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Performing Quality Assurance reviews of the work performed by AML Investigators
  • Developing targeted training and feedback to provide to AML Investigators
  • Generating and reviewing QA feedback prior to distribution to other teams/processes, as needed
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on the QA reviews and Financial Crimes Investigations processes

Some things we consider critical for this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • 3+ years working at a broker-dealer, cryptocurrency institution, or other financial institution in regulatory compliance, or related consulting experience for financial services/fintech clients
  • 3+ years of experience in AML and/or fraud investigations
  • Familiarity with regulations relevant to broker-dealers including: Bank Secrecy Act, PATRIOT ACT, KYC requirements, as well as an understanding of applicable broker-dealer regulations (Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Regulation T, etc.) and products
  • Ability and passion to learn and adapt quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail, organization, and process improvements, including gap identification and root-cause analysis capabilities
  • Motivation to be a self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to a changing environment

Bonus points:

  • ACAMS certified
  • Passed the SIE or hold FINRA Series license(s)
  • Experience with Actimize and/or Nasdaq SMARTS Trade Surveillance system
  • Knowledge of blockchain analytics technologies
  • Masters, or other graduate, degree
  • Experience in a project lead or mentorship capacity
