The Role

The Technical Program Manager is at the hub of the TuneIn strategy to bring radio and audio to customers on any device in every context, worldwide. The spokes of that wheel touch voice assistants, smart speakers, automobiles, mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, set-top boxes, connected TVs, and more.

In this role, you will manage the technical components of TuneIn's growth through external distribution partner relationships. You will develop a deep understanding of partner technical requirements, priorities, and roadmaps to inform and influence TuneIn's product strategy. You will delight our joint customers while improving the ease, speed, quality, and robustness of delivering them new audio experiences. The Technical Program Manager coordinates the execution of TuneIn's core strategic distribution roadmap.

What You Will Do

    • Manage and develop the technical and Product relationship with key external hardware partners, representing TuneIn and building trust through your deep technical expertise and customers' needs
    • Provide ongoing technical support for new & existing partners maintaining regular communication and managing expectations with both external and internal teams
    • Proactively identify and drive technical issues and incidents to resolution
    • Maintains clear and consistent org-wide communications to drive broad visibility into the health and status of our distribution partnerships
    • Partner with Business Development, Product Management, Content and Marketing on prioritization and strategic alignment of new partnerships, ensuring we have the right fit for both companies in each integration
    • Partner with Product Management and engineering to guide product roadmaps, advocating for partner, business, and listener needs-and highlighting issues, trends, and opportunities for enhancements
    • Create and maintain partner-facing onboarding documentation, toolkits, and analytics that improve time to market, partner success, and operational robustness
    • Understand the evolving market of consumer audio product devices and services to identify benchmarks, unmet integration needs, and potential partners
    • Look around corners to reduce risk and to spot openings for API or platform innovation and distribution process improvements

What We Are Looking For

    • 3+ years technical program management or technical account management experience in consumer technology companies, linking product integration to customer engagement results
    • A track record of building great technical partner relationships that support high impact product integrations in a fast-paced, dynamic software company
    • Fluency addressing a partner's product, technical and business needs while maintaining deep customer empathy for our mutual customers' experience
    • Demonstrated delivery of complex, often quite technical, connected device integrations from qualification or evaluation through launch and monitoring
    • Artful successes in managing external stakeholders around both companies' technical, time and resource bottlenecks
    • Critical thinking and data-driven analysis combined with sound qualitative judgment
    • Expressive written and verbal communications with a knack for clear articulation of partner and customer problems
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
