Who are we?

We're a small, diverse team working at the cutting edge of machine learning. At Cohere, our mission is to build machines that understand the world and to make them safely accessible to all. Language is at the crux of this, but it can be difficult and expensive to parse the syntax, semantics, and context that all work together to give words meaning. The Cohere platform provides access to Large Language Models through its APIs that read billions of web pages and learn to understand the meaning, sentiment, and intent of the words we use in a richness never seen before.

We recently raised our Series B, signed a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud, and we are focused on bringing our technology to market. We will partner with customers so they can build natural language understanding and generation into their products with just a few lines of code.

And we have the technical chops to back it up - Cohere's CEO, Aidan Gomez, is a co-author of the groundbreaking paper "Attention is all you need", (over 23k citations) and was previously part of Google Brain. As the first Project Manager on the Product team you will have the unique opportunity and responsibility to oversee project plans. You'll get to work with one of the leading AI and NLP teams in the world, work on a fast-growing product, and contribute to the company culture

Please Note: We have offices in Toronto, Palo Alto, and London but embrace being remote-first! There are no restrictions on where you can be located for this role.

As a Project Manager, you will:

• Manage quarterly roadmapping and OKR development process
• Convene roadmap feedback process with adjacent groups inside the company and with developer audience
• Coordinate with Engineering project managers to help manage the shipping process, including updates to docs and related developer education content
• Organize and track a publication calendar for developer-facing documentation
• Ensure key stakeholders in Engineering and Business teams have advanced notice of key product updates
• Coordinate Human Evaluation process for Cohere's models
• Act as a liaison between Cohere, stakeholders and clients
• Ensure PM resources are allocated most efficiently against developers and customers who are onboarding to the platform

You may be a good fit if:

• You have experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• You have experience establishing the environment necessary to operate as a high performing cross-functional team in partnership with stakeholders
• You have proven organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• You have the ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and facilitate communication amongst the project teams, client stakeholders, and leadership teams
• You are excited about NLP and have a desire to become an expert on the applications of large language models (Experience with NLP is a plus)
• PMP certification is a plus
