Founded in 2016 by Jean-Charles Samuelian and Charles Gorintin, Alan is the first independent digital health insurance in France since 1986.

By providing our members with delightful health insurance bundled with innovative healthcare services, Alan's long-term goal is to help all people have a personalized and accessible healthcare experience.

As of today, Alan covers more than 250,000 members, representing over ?160m+ of annualized revenue. We recently raised a further ?185m in a series D funding round bringing the company's total valuation to ?1.4bn. The team is 450+ people and growing. About our French business

  • France is Alan's first market and it still represents more than 90% of our members and revenue
  • The French member base has been roughly growing 2x year over year for the past few years
  • We sell B2B to cover company employees and their families. We have expanded our target segments over time, starting from small tech companies to covering companies with thousands of employees across industries (tech, retail, manufacturing, etc)
  • Our strategy for 2022 is to keep growing aggressively in France while increasing our margin and improving our operational efficiency
  • About the Insurance Setup product area
  • Insurance Setup is the largest and most critical product area for France to sign larger clients and hit our 2022 objectives (note: product areas at Alan are similar to Tribes in the Spotify model)
  • The Insurance Setup product area currently has 3 product teams (we call them crews) actively working on it
  • Its mission is to provide market-leading solutions to our client admins (HRs, accountants, etc) to manage health insurance for their employees
  • It covers a wide range of jobs to be done from employee onboarding to payroll management and billing
  • The vision is to make the experience lightning fast, simple and reliable for admins so that they get time back for the wellbeing of their employees

  • The product leader for the Insurance setup product area will find market fit with larger companies while scaling our current approach.

The product area lead will:

  • refine our product vision and strategy for the area based on a deep understanding of prospect needs and Alan goals
  • challenge and support PMs in the product area on their strategy, execution and communication
  • contribute to the strategy of the French business unit
  • lead a product crew themselves when relevant
  • They will partner closely with counterparts on the sales and product marketing side as well as collaborate with relevant stakeholders across the company.
  • Beyond their responsibility on Insurance setup, we expect contributions to the product management community: hiring & coaching PMs, improving our processes and product organization, etc.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Eight years of experience in a product role
  • Proven track record of delighting B2B clients (ideally with some experience with enterprise clients) and managing senior business stakeholders
  • Ability to build a clear product vision and rally a team around it
  • Experience balancing product vision and business goals to sustain growth in the long term
  • Strong written communication skills in internal- and external-facing settings
  • Analytical and structured decision-making style
  • Experience coordinating with distributed teams
  • Desire to coach and support others in their growth journey
  • Willingness to deeply challenge the status quo in the insurance and healthcare industries
  • Fluency in English
  • Fluency in French to attend client meetings
  • (As a plus) experience building product teams and processes in a hyper growth environment
  • (As a plus) prior experience in the insurance industry
