We are hiring for a Group Product Manager position, focused on our Platform with a focus on API and integrations in order to support Spendesk's fast-paced growth. This role will be instrumental in continuing to build strong core product features for our desktop app.

This person is responsible for identifying and prioritizing the correct complex topics on the API & Integrations scope. They will build the plan to address them and they will focus on execution to deliver the best experience to our users.

This person will achieve these goals by collaborating closely with engineering leads, software developers, designers, data analysts, and data engineers. They will also work closely with Product Marketing to ensure the execution of effective go-to-market for the features they are building.

Key responsibilities

Product Sense and Strategy

The Platform Group Product Manager will:

  • Understand the wide ecosystem of B2B tools and processes adjacent to corporate spend workflows Spendesk manages and facilitates.
  • Define a strategy specifying the playing field and impact Spendesk platform will bring to the business.
  • Work with the Product, Design, Engineering(PDE) and Revenue teams to outline required platform capabilities, native integrations and identify the potential partnerships opportunities.
  • Understand the Spendesk partner requirements, the needs of the Spendesk end-users and devise ways to balance these inputs in the Platform product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the PDE leaders to form the Platform roadmap, sequencing the delivery and aligning with the Revenue and Leadership teams on the progress in delivering value.

Execution

Lead the implementation of the Platform roadmap: planning, delivery, milestones evaluation; manage escalations; unblock the squad by resolving dependencies with other squads.

Leadership and Communication

  • Define the direction for the team, manage expectations for the leadership team and other stakeholders.
  • Get the squad team and partnering squads onboard with the vision.
  • Represent the Spendesk Platform team at the industry conferences and events.

People Management

  • The Platform Group Product Manager will lead the Platform product team, managing the PMs
  • The GPM will help identify the learning and development opportunities and facilitate the PMs professional development.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in Product/Project/Engineering/Partnerships Manager working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams.
  • 5+ years of Product management experience, preferably in building Platforms APIs or technical products targeting developers.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Ability to articulate defined strategy and mold consensus across many different stakeholders, including the Revenue and commercial teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and projects, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to dig into complex topics, driving resolution.
  • Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience.
  • Technical expertise: software development experience OR contribution to the development of an API, SDK or another technical product targeting developers OR BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - it is our business language.
