We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Infrastructure Engineering team and enable teams at Attentive to quickly build scalable, secure, and performant applications.
This team is responsible for building and operating the core infrastructure of our microservices architecture here at Attentive which consists of Kubernetes, Istio, various AWS services, and our Infrastructure as Code. We leverage Terraform as our Infrastructure as Code solution and are consistently working to improve our release process through investments in CI/CD. Our goal is to enable teams to deploy to production quickly and reliably in order to promote faster product iteration.

What You'll do
- You'll lead your team, being a role model to ensure collaboration and that individuals are motivated and engaged.
- You will be an effective people manager who also has the capability to contribute as a highly technical hands-on engineer when the need arises
- Develop automation workflows to improve team efficiency Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
- Partner with other teams and business stakeholders to deliver business initiatives
- Use your familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices to foster a culture of quality while facilitating developer velocity
Who You Are
- You have experience in the leadership of teams as a manager and helped to make key decisions. We are looking for someone who can get going quickly, providing leadership to the team from the beginning.
- Communicating comes naturally to you, and you enjoy building positive relationships with collaborators and peers.
- You are pragmatic and look to deliver value early and often with continuous improvement rather than seeking finesse in a single delivery.
- Experience maintaining large-scale infrastructure, supporting production workloads, and configuration management
- Familiarity with Cloud deployment workflows and cloud IaaS providers (preferably AWS)
- Prior experience with containerization and Kubernetes orchestration
Product Development at Attentive
- Our infrastructure runs primarily in Kubernetes hosted in AWS's EKS
- Infrastructure tooling includes Istio, Datadog, Terraform, CloudFlare, and Helm
- Our backend is Java / Spring Boot microservices, built with Gradle, coupled with things like DynamoDB, Kinesis, AirFlow, Postgres, Planetscale, and Redis, hosted via AWS.
- Our frontend is built with React and TypeScript, and uses best practices like GraphQL, Storybook, Radix UI, Vite, esbuild, and Playwright
- Our team is 300+ engineers, product managers, and designers from top tech companies including Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Moat, Oscar, and AppNexus
- We believe our company will win in the long run through product innovation. To get there, we obsess over iteratively delivering customer value through rapid prototyping and data-driven decision-making.
