We're looking for a strong Engineering Manager with a proven track record to lead our Engineering Effectiveness team.

As part of our platform organization, the Engineering Effectiveness team enables Attentive to build and operate software quickly, safely, and enjoyably. In this high-impact position, you will ensure daily life and developer experience for Attentive engineers is productive and enjoyable.

As a team leader, you will be responsible for:

Defining technical roadmaps and vision, directly influencing technology choices for the organization
Mentoring the members of your team, technically and professionally
Building relationships with teams across the organization

Your team will build systems, tools, frameworks, and libraries to improve our code as well as our ability to ship it quickly and reliably including:

All types of automated testing
Build systems for modern monorepos
Local development environment tooling
Documentation and support

You at Attentive:

You will introduce new technologies and development workflows to teams across the engineering organization
You will be an effective people manager who also has the capability to contribute as a highly technical hands-on engineer when the need arises
You will manage a high-performance platform team
You will own testing infrastructure and practices - integration, functional, load/performance, end to end
You will optimize build systems, internal developer platforms/frameworks, and engineering tooling
You are excited by new technologies yet conscientious about choosing tools for the right reasons.
You are enthusiastic about a high impact, fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications

A proven track record of introducing effective changes to technical processes used by multiple teams
An opinionated philosophy about how to write and deliver good software and are passionate about teaching others how to do so
Direct experience using and introducing some combination of the following technologies:
Development: Git, k8s, Argo CD
Backend: Java (Spring Boot), Gradle
Frontend: React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Storybook, Radix UI, Vite, esbuild, Playwright
Databases: RDS (MySQL, Postgres), PlanetScale, DynamoDB, Redis
Infrastructure: AWS, Terraform, Istio, Kinesis, Pulsar, Snowflake, Datadog
CI/CD: CircleCI, Argo CD
