What's the opportunity?

Join a high-performing Information Security group, responsible for ensuring Intercom remains secure & trusted for more than 25,000 businesses. As the manager of the Cloud Security team, you will own the security governance of Intercom's main AWS production accounts supporting Intercom's infrastructure and product, implement and/or drive improvement to their security posture and own threat detection and response for any security event or incident impacting this ecosystem.

You will partner with Intercom's Appsec, Infrastructure and IT teams, engineering teams to identify & understand risks across Intercom's production environment and guide those teams in their mitigation. Your team will build tools, controls and security components that safeguard our people, products & customer data.

What will I be doing?

• Leading the development and maintenance of AWS cloud-based security controls
• Driving the detection, monitoring, testing & operational response for infrastructure-level security threats
• Responding to and managing security incidents; driving improvements in incident response.
• Working across Intercom's core infrastructure group, establishing technical security standards to shape the design of Intercom's development and production environments.
• Collaborating with Intercom's Appsec team and driving architecture and systems engineering focused threat modeling activities
• Partnering with Infosec leadership to shape team direction and strategy and deliver impact with the help of your team.
• Managing a team of talented systems and security engineers with subject matter expertise in AWS security architecture and services.
• Creating a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team focused on fast, focused, high impact execution.

What skills do I need?

• Experience in managing infrastructure or cloud security teams & growing team members in their personal growth and career progression.
• An ability to identify, prioritize and drive delivery of pragmatic, risk-focused and scalable security solutions to infrastructure and systems security problems
• Broad knowledge of the AWS security model, security services and controls
• An ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast paced environment with a high degree of autonomy.
