THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite is the leading global ticketing and event technology platform, powering over five million live experiences and 300 million tickets every year. We empower creators of events of all shapes and sizes - from music festivals, experiential yoga, political rallies to gaming competitions -- by providing them the tools and resources they need to seamlessly plan, promote, and produce live experiences around the world.
The Creator Acquisition team mission is efficiently acquire new creators for Eventbrite that will be successful and valuable on our platform. We are working on improve our acquisition experience building a unified and unique experience for prospective creators and showcasing our product so creators understand and are excited about our platform
As an Engineering Manager, you will inspire, mentor, and develop the team that builds this experience and make a great impact on our business.

THE ROLE
As an Engineering Manager at Eventbrite, you will have the opportunity to drive impact through ownership of challenging and impactful parts of our platform. You will contribute to Eventbrite engineering's culture of technical excellence through inclusivity and mentorship. You will continuously learn among amazing peers. THE TEAM
We're a people-focused Engineering organization: the women and men on our team value working together in small teams to solve big problems, supporting an active culture of mentorship and inclusion, and pushing themselves to learn new things daily. Pair programming, weekly demos, tech talks, and quarterly hackathons are at the core of how we've built our team and product. We believe in engaging with the community, regularly hosting free events with some of the top technical speakers, and actively contributing to open source software (check out Britecharts as an example!). Our technology spans across web, mobile, API, big data, machine learning, search, physical point of sale, and scanning systems.

THE SKILL SET

    • At least one year experience in engineering leadership and people management
    • Strong technical background (3+ years) building web products and ability to contribute to design and architectural discussions
    • Demonstrated ability to grow and lead high-functioning, diverse technical teams through coaching, training, and career development aligned with their goals.
    • Experience working with a highly collaborative environment, driving a team who ships code to production often
    • Develop a sustainable, healthy work environment focused on creative problem solving and innovation
    • Experience with fundamental cloud technologies (preferably within AWS) and the DevOps approach to autonomous team ownership of mission critical infrastructure
    • Experience in recruiting a well-rounded, diverse technical team
    • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

BONUS POINT

    • Experience or a passion for organizing and attending live experiences.
    • Experience leading completely remote and distributed engineering teams, with global cross team collaboration.
    • Experience working in an experimental and agile environment.
    • Strong Motivation for innovation and creativity.
