OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this high impact role you will lead a team of Full Stack Software Engineers, working with Ads Manager, a tool that Brands use to advertise with Instacart. You will work closely with Product Managers on the next iteration of our Ads product lines as well as tools that help Brands to be successful on the Instacart platform.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Brand Enablement is part of our larger Ads Core group and is responsible for Ads Manager, the services that power Ads Manager (i.e. Ads Optimization Hub) and our Ads Delivery infrastructure. Brand Enablement's mission is to set up Brands for success on the Instacart platform. Your team owns products like Brand Pages, Product Library and more. These products accelerate organic and non-organic Ads performance.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Manage and help prioritize work for your Full Stack Engineering team, making difficult tradeoffs on design based on business constraints, ensuring on-time deliverables and high-quality software
  • Responsible for generating the roadmap for your team in collaboration with your cross-functional partners
  • Provide hands-on technical management, guidance and support including system design & code review, ultimately being responsible for the health of the systems your team builds
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and other teams within the Ads Core group, owning a large part of the process from problem understanding to shipping high quality, scalable and robust solutions with a sense of urgency
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring decisions, on-boarding, and mentoring of new Engineers with the goal of quickly making them productive members of your team
  • Develop a team culture of ownership that reinforces the core values of Instacart

ABOUT YOU

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of Software Engineers
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical skills and a sense of ownership
  • Strong ability to balance business needs & a sense of urgency along with shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices for building large scale and highly reliable applications
  • Experience recruiting, hiring and building a team along with experience helping Engineers grow in their career
