Job Summary

The City Technology Demo Associate (North America) is responsible for planning and overseeing the execution of on-site product demos to city stakeholders. You will oversee or coordinate scheduling, logistics, marketing materials, site preparation, internal communications, and complex systems configurations. This is a high pressure and demanding job, where you will often use your judgment to solve complex problems with limited supervision. While you will be supported by a cross-functional team, you will ultimately be responsible for the technical and logistical success of each demo. This role is primarily home/office bases, but will involve some travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning of on-site sales demos throughout North America.
  • Remotely support teams on the ground in each city to test vehicles and resolve issues.
  • Configure software and vehicle systems using Bird's proprietary market management tools.
  • Partner with internal teams such as Operations, Government Partnerships, Vehicle, Logistics, and Engineering to execute in-market demos.
  • Assist more junior team members with standard operating procedures and problem solving.
  • Manage calendar of demos across cities & countries.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams and outside vendors to get vehicles into and out of each market.
  • Coordinate with Government Partnerships team to track who will attend each meeting.
  • Manage a daily standup meeting to coordinate all team activities.
  • Manage a series of meetings for each demo: kickoff/intake, prep meetings, post-demo reviews.
  • Maintain a briefing document for each demo.
  • Maintain and monitor a task list for each demo.
  • Communicate status of all items above with the greater team.
  • Work independently under limited supervision.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices, and recommend improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance.
  • 20% travel. While this role is primarily home/office based, it will require some travel into markets.
  • While supporting demos in remote time zones, some late night and weekend work will be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience configuring and testing micromobility vehicles and technical systems, or other similar systems.
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional projects with a significant impact on the company's goals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive and energetic attitude, even in the face of daunting challenges.
  • Mastery of Google Suite tools (Google Docs, Calendar, Sheets, Slides).
  • Ability to ride small electric vehicles (scooters and ebikes) on city streets.
  • Ability to lift vehicles up to 75 pounds, for occasional loading of vehicles into vans.
  • Driver's License and ability to drive a van, for occasional transport of scooters and bikes. (Commercial Driver's License not required.)
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Additional languages are a plus.
  • 1+ year of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in event production or film/tv production, as a professional or hobbyist.
  • Photography and video editing.
