Freelance Video Editor

Doing Things Media is looking for a reliable, talented freelance video editor to help produce content for Bob Does Sports (@bobdoessports), one of our fan-favorite shows.

As a freelance video editor for Bob Does Sports, you'll be responsible for taking raw footage and cutting it into funny, well-paced episodes that match the voice and production value of our existing content.

We're looking for someone who can take on approximately one project a week (producing a final cut that typically ranges from 10-20 minutes). However, the workload may differ week to week so we're looking for someone who's flexible and able to adapt to a changing schedule.

Our perfect candidate is someone who's dependable and driven, and is excited about the show and its style. You have strong technical skills and excellent creative instincts. You're capable of working independently and efficiently, and able to produce content that engages audiences and helps grow followers.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities:

• Editing raw footage to turn it into a variety of social-first video formats to create best-in-class, wildly funny creative content
• Staying close to analytics and video performance, and using it to inform your content week over week
• Staying close to other team members to share ideas, successes and challenges across departments and brands

Qualifications:

• Excellent video editing skills - experience with funny content and social-first content is a plus (ideally with 2+ years creating relevant content - experience working on a comparable show is a plus)
• Good comedic instincts
• And interest in working with the Bob Does Sports team, and a personal appreciation of the content and current editing style. Knowledge of golf is a plus.
• Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator)
• Familiarity with using best practices when storing, saving and exporting video projects
• Strong creative instincts and abilities when it comes to improving video footage, including color grading and sound mixing experience
• Ability to share and collaborate on large projects (which includes properly managing transfer and storage of data/files)
• Familiarity with Adobe Audition and motion graphics experience is a plus
