Why is the VP, Marketing important to us?

Shapeways is looking for a VP, Marketing to lead and define our GTM strategy in building the future of manufacturing. This could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own our Global Brand, Comms, PR & IR, Creative, Product Marketing, B2B Strategy & Insights, Acquisition, Media, Lifecycle Marketing, and our GTM strategy for our new software -- Otto, in a rapidly growing space in additive and traditional manufacturing!

This seasoned strategic marketer is responsible for informing the marketing solutions that deliver on the revenue, profit goals, and key communications; both internal and external. This role will own the full P&L of the marketing team, and partner with cross-functional leads across our organization to crystalize, enable and execute global marketing strategies. They will gather and understand key data inputs, revenue performance, and consumer and industry trends to help us achieve our marketing and business objectives This individual will play a critical role on the leadership team, driving business strategy, identifying future opportunities, and planning for future initiatives, and ensuring implementation with each of our teams.

This is a fully remote role and will report directly to our CRO, Miko Levy. This person will manage two Directors; Marketing Comms & Performance Marketing.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the right arm to the CRO helping to drive a strategic business agenda globally across functional stakeholders. Partner with the CRO on strategic messaging and vision work for the business
  • Drive global B2B strategic planning process to set annual strategy; work with leadership team to execute strategic plans by function, brand, and market
  • Own GTM marketing strategy for our newly launched software platform, Otto
  • Lead discussions with cross-functional teams to achieve the right prioritization of initiatives and the proper resource allocation
  • Lead a marketing team to execute an implementation plan for GTM strategies
  • Own internal & external communications process, collaborating with the leadership team to ensure there is a clear cadence, format, and decisioning process on what and how to communicate
  • Own Product positioning and messaging : Through creative storytelling and defininging our voice, you'll create and promote a compelling global narrative and value proposition for SW
  • Own GTM & Core Sales Enablement: Work with Account Management & Business Development, teams to develop plays and GTM programs that help drive pipeline, find new customers in new geographies and verticals
  • Originate, manage, and maintain our public relations and investor-facing materials, including all press releases, corporate presentations, investor presentations, data presentations, conference call scripts, Q&As, etc

You might be a good fit if (you have/are):

  • 15+ years of marketing experience preferably in SaaS, Manufacturing, or Hardware space; healthy mix of private and public experience a must
  • Proven experience building/owning Global Brand, Comms, PR & IR, Creative, Product Marketing, B2B Strategy & Insights, Acquisition, Media, Lifecycle Marketing
  • Highly analytical w/ proven experience garnering insights to identify business opportunities and inform marketing strategies
  • Experience developing and executing global and regional marketing strategies for multiple brands under the parent umbrella
  • Experience running successful marketing campaigns with proven impact on driving revenue growth through said campaigns
  • Cross-channel experience with an extensive digital marketing background
  • Ability to create, lead and present robust data sets and learnings, but in digestible and engaging ways
  • Intimate involvement with creating materials and presenting to a Board or Directors
