About This Role

The Senior Manager, Global Social will work cross-functionally to set channel strategy for the Strava Club, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels. As a domain leader you will articulate a vision for social storytelling, tone and develop the key strategic initiatives to engage the community and grow our social reach. You will proactively build relationships with influential athletes, photographers, coaches, and partners to develop unique content and always-on social stories. You are a strong writer who will both craft ideas, as well as support and shape the overall output of the social media and community marketing team.

As a member of the global brand marketing team, you connect personally with Strava's mission, and are proactive, curious and passionate about connecting with athletes in the community. You'll help us become a category leader at social media conversations and showcasing the human side of our brand. You have experience managing teams and external channel planning along with editorial calendars and design systems. You are savvy with paid media budgets, investing in paid content creation and curation from the community. You establish ways of working across global teams and manage the organizational side of publishing to a highly engaged audience.

  • Expand the Strava brand with a clear social channel strategy that ladders up to the marketing vision and strategy for the season.
  • Enable athletes to become creators and elevate community content to foster an inclusive conversation.
  • Establish processes for the team that better supports their individual and team projects, always finding ways to empower them and to boost the team morale.
  • Partner with internal creative and freelance writers and photographers to inform content strategy for Strava's global social media channels.
  • Oversee the protected post strategy and support the team with moderation of hate speech.
  • Craft strategic channel plans that help amplify brand campaigns and products go to market. Circulating copy and schedule ahead of launch with key stakeholders.
  • Manage monthly paid media boosting budget and content promotion.
  • Support regional teams social activations across Strava's local markets and key events.
  • Stay abreast of updates and changes to the key social media platforms and explore new and emerging channel opportunities (IG Live, TikTok, Clubhouse.)
  • Report on channel learnings and monthly social media metrics.

  • You are a people manager who understands the importance of meeting their team where they are and in an effort to best support the team.
  • You have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • You can display strong leadership skills in an effort to help the team prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
