Remote job description

Confluent is pioneering a fundamentally new category of data infrastructure focused on data in motion. Have you ever found a new favorite series on Netflix, picked up groceries curbside at Walmart, or paid for something using Square? That's the power of data in motion in action-giving organizations instant access to the massive amounts of data that is constantly flowing throughout their business. At Confluent, we're building the foundational platform for this new paradigm of data infrastructure. Our cloud-native offering is designed to be the intelligent connective tissue enabling real-time data, from multiple sources, to constantly stream across the organization. About the Role

Confluent is looking for an experienced marketing leader with a blend of product marketing and communications experience to lead a new function within the Product Marketing team. The Director of Product Marketing for Executive Comms will own how our products and company show up at our biggest and most important events, from keynotes at our large conferences with more than 2000 in-person attendees, to smaller but critical customer interactions such as our Customer Advisory Boards and Executive Briefing Center activities.

As a successful candidate for this role, you have a track record of being able to craft compelling narratives that resonate with a mix of audiences, from developers and architects through to business executives and analysts.

What You Will Do:

    • Own and drive content and messaging for keynotes and other strategic company and industry events
    • Work closely with our executive leadership as well as product and GTM leaders from across the company to ensure all of our initiatives come together into a single, consistent story
    • Partner with design and production teams to deliver compelling, high-production value events that inform and delight our customers
    • Define the content strategy for how we communicate with executive audiences via our Executive Briefing Center, including creating and maintaining a curated set of appropriate content, and partner with other teams in marketing to ensure successful delivery
    • Collaborate with Product Management leadership to co-own the content and strategy for our 4 Customer Advisory Boards (North America, Europe, APAC, and Digital Native)

What You Will Bring:

    • 10+ years marketing experience with specific experience building compelling, high-production value keynote content
    • Exceptionally strong communication skills
    • Ability to craft a narrative that appeals to a diverse set of personas, from technical practitioners such as developers and architects, to business audiences such as press and analysts

What Gives You an Edge:

    • 5+ years of experience working on highly technical, developer-oriented products
    • Understanding of the data tech landscape and Kafka's position in it
