Where you fit it

We're looking to hire a contractor to lead corporate communications, focusing on press and analyst relations. As part of this role, you'll be working closely with Humu's CEO (Laszlo Bock), VP of Marketing, and Head of Content to build our comms strategy, crystallize our corporate narrative, increase positive coverage of Humu, and raise brand awareness. You'll develop stories and campaigns that elevate Humu, but also bring together the core pieces of our brand heritage—including our Google beginnings and founders' stories.

Role will average 8-10 hours a week for 3-6 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute a communications strategy to raise awareness of and elevate Humu's brand
  • Develop corporate narrative and message maps
  • Create our comms distribution strategy, assessing which media outlets best support our narrative and reach our target audience
  • Pitch news stories and create press materials; grow coverage with top business, technology, and HR media
  • Manage preparation (content and briefings) for executive speaking engagement
  • Work with internal spokespeople to develop their platforms via op-eds, interview opportunities, and speaking engagements
  • Build relationships with top analyst firms and manage briefings
  • Manage and advise on inbound requests for speaking engagements and opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in technology public relations, preferably with B2B experience
  • Available for ~8-10 hours of work per week
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written; you are a supreme storyteller and can boil down complex concepts into simple, compelling ideas
  • Established relationships with business and technology reporters, analysts, and industry thought-leaders
  • Experience collaborating with senior executives, marketing, and legal teams
  • Proven ability to exercise good creative judgment; you can balance protecting the brand while pushing the envelope
