This role sits in our Engine team, the backbone of Seedcamp, ensuring everything from legal to finance is in perfect order, to enable the fund to operate at its best.

What will you be involved in?

The role's primary purpose is to make our legal capability the true embodiment of best in class, focusing on optimising processes and turbocharging efficiency. This involves:

  • Assisting in the administration and negotiation/drafting and reviewing of legal investment documentation across multiple jurisdictions; including a.o. shareholders agreements, term sheets, articles, SPAs, due diligence documentation and employment contracts.
  • Managing investment timelines and ensuring documents are executed and signed on time and in accordance with internal and regulatory processes.
  • Creating a procedure for and managing legal input in the investment process and updating / improving our process management systems.
  • Supporting and tracking the legal process for investments into portfolio companies from start to completion and post-closing matters.
  • Administration of regulatory reporting information following completion of an investment.
  • Supporting our Engine division (Finance, Accounting, Legal and Compliance) on legal tasks where necessary.

What we're looking for:

  • You have solid experience (min 1-2 years) working in a legal environment as a lawyer, paralegal, contract manager or similar and are passionate for legal systems and processes. A degree in (UK/European) law is a plus but not required.
  • A general understanding of and interest in startups, venture capital, or equity investments, although no need to have worked exactly in our part of the industry before - we welcome transferable skill sets and recognise that diverse working backgrounds make us stronger overall.
  • Strong numerical skills and interest in the commercials and economics of transactions.
  • Flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing environments quickly.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team and build relationships.
