Legal Counsel

In September 2021, we broke the funding record again with a $130m Series C raise.

Requirements

As a US Legal Counsel at Multiverse you will:

• Report to the General Counsel, working closely with your UK counterpart - Legal Counsel, UK;
• Work closely with our Go To Market (Sales) team to draft and negotiate our B2B customer and partner contracts;
• Provide frontline support on privacy and data protection matters (US and cross border), supported by our Information Security Lead;
• Provide frontline support on matters pertaining to US employment laws as they relate to clients' apprentices and Multiverse employees.
• Proactively identify risks to our business and solutions to eliminate or mitigate them
• Assist with supplier matters such as supplier audits, contract reviews and negotiations, and marketing reviews;
• Provide legal support for ad-hoc projects across a range of business functions (e.g. Finance, HR, Operations, Product, Risk & Compliance);
• Help set up agile risk-based processes and procedures ;
• Contribute towards Multiverse's legal resources and business and training programmes.
• We're looking for a US Legal Counsel who can display the below skills & experience
• 4 years PQE+, experience in-house or at a top law firm (with secondment experience), with a focus on commercial and employment matters.
• Demonstrable experience of providing end-to-end B2B and commercial contractual support
• Experienced in data protection matters
• Strong commercial acumen; able to take a pragmatic approach to legal risk and advise the business accordingly.
• Experience building risk management processes and procedures from the ground up
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong team player and can-do approach; no job is too big or too small
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic business
• Qualified to practise law in the US

It would also be great to see:

• Prior in-house experience within a high-growth technology company
• Experience working on multi-jurisdictional (US/UK) matters
