As the Corporate Controller, you'll play a key role in scaling our accounting team and operations to support the business growth during this exciting time. Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, and you'll play a key role in scaling our accounting operations and guide the team on its path to public company readiness, hiring and mentoring the team to meet the challenges of a high growth, global company. The Corporate Controller to support the business growth during this exciting time. Reporting to the Head of Accounting this role will oversee Revenue Accounting, Technical accounting, Business Process and Internal Controls. The role will work very closely with the Assistant Controller and the FP&A teams in supporting the monthly and quarterly close processes for a high growth cloud security company headquartered in San Francisco. This role will be based in San Francisco, California, and will work remotely except for office days when determined by management.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Revenue accounting team and help to drive process improvement with the Director of Revenue, including the timely completion and review of journal
  • Work with the Head of accounting on the implementation of best practices as well as automation of key processes with the Q2C, P2P, R2R.
  • Drive the implementation of controls for the accounting team and the company
  • Be a leader who is driven to build high performing teams, contributing to a positive and empathetic culture that values members, providing support and mentorship along the way
  • Be a functional expert in accounting and financial reporting related matters who will provide guidance on US GAAP and ensure the integrity of the consolidated financial results as reported
  • Be comfortable communicating results and addressing issues as they arise to management
  • Collaborate with leadership across the company to provide timely reporting to assist in strategic initiatives and key decision processes
  • Ensure controls over financial reporting processes are in place and are executed timely and accurately
  • Work with the Lookout's external auditors and advisors on audit, accounting and other matters
  • Work cross functionally with other leaders at Lookout to scale and operationalize processes supporting our business growth
  • Work cross functionally with other leaders to challenge and optimize our accounting & finance systems as part of scaling initiatives
  • Ability and desire to flex with the Company's growth and continued international expansion

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)10+ years of experience in public accounting, including experience auditing publicly traded global corporations
  • Experience leading through an IPO process is a positive
  • SaaS industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills A proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to build strong working relationships
  • Demonstrable experience managing, developing, and mentoring finance professionals, growing future leaders and inspiring high performing teams

Required Skills:

  • Strong MS Excel experience (use of pivot tables)
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing corporate and payroll tax filings
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process
  • Detail oriented and analytical
  • Collaborative and communicative
  • Strong people manager
