We meet as a team daily and are required to connect with other teams, both internal and external, during standard business hours. You can work from home, a coffee shop, or the beach as long as the work gets done.

We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering to help lead and grow our team.

What we offer:

Compensation:

We look at varying factors when creating our compensation packages. We review a candidate's experience, the national average for similar positions in similar-sized companies in our market, and the responsibilities and expectations of the position. Each offer we make is unique to the candidate. This position can range between $100k-$130k, depending on the factors listed above.

Who You Are:

You'll be in charge of developing processes for ensuring that the team is efficiently shipping features and you will play an active role in determining our engineering priorities. You'll also be responsible for directly managing part of the team, as well as ensuring all team members have the proper mentorship opportunities.

What we are asking of you:

  • Manage and train junior and mid-level team members
  • Lead hiring efforts for the engineering department
  • Take responsibility for delivery of high-level features
  • Develop processes for ensuring code is shipped in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Product and Client Services teams to prioritize projects and plan sprints
  • Break down multi-disciplinary projects for individual teams
  • Gain and maintain familiarity with our architecture and codebase
  • Assist with maintaining an engineering backlog

What experience is required:

  • 7 years of software development experience
  • 3 years of experience in a team lead or engineering manager role
  • Understanding of agile methodologies
  • Strong hands-on experience with both frontend and backend development
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and React
  • Jira administration experience

  • Strong, open communication

  • Strong listening skills, knowledge of active listening principles a plus
  • Ability to foster and promote teamwork
  • Ability to foster individual and team growth
