As the Director of Global Compensation, you will be responsible for building out the Company's global compensation function. This role is responsible for our total compensation framework (cash & equity) that enables our global teams to attract, motivate and retain top talent. This role will report to the Head of Strategic Finance and will closely partner with our HRBP and strategic business stakeholders to lead global compensation initiatives, programs, and projects. The successful candidate understands global compensation frameworks, has experience building competitive programs in the technology industry and is able to translate their knowledge into practical and creative solutions for compensation-related matters. They will be required to take the initiative, be proactive, and have outstanding collaboration and communication skills.

What you'll do

  • Manage the design of our global job leveling system, compensation framework, and rewards philosophy.
  • Provide expertise on all critical compensation programs and processes such as our bi-annual performance review cycle, pay equity study, compensation guidelines, job families, annual salary review, and equity refresh program.
  • Lead the development of compensation benchmarks by researching market studies to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and alignment to our total rewards philosophy.
  • Partner with Exec Leadership, HR, recruiting, and other cross-functional partners to drive consistency in compensation planning, offers, internal transfers, and performance review cycles.
  • Along with the HRBP team, create policy and program documentation by educating managers and employees about Instabase's compensation philosophy, job descriptions, and leveling framework across the organization.
  • Implement and track critical compensation reporting metrics.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation programs and policies, providing analytics and recommending process and design enhancements that are cost-effective.

About you

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in HR, Business Administration, or Finance preferred.
  • 8+ years related work experience in global compensation analysis, design, consulting, and/or operations. You've spent at least 2 recent years in the technology industry.
  • A data-driven mentality, you drive evidence-based discussions and decision-making.
  • You have a strong understanding of job evaluation methodology and experience building leveling frameworks.
  • Savvy and impactful stakeholder engagement. You are comfortable working in ambiguous situations and have experience successfully navigating complex operating environments.
  • You're a team player with strong interpersonal skills and capable of working with multiple cultures and teams. You have a strong ability to build relationships which enables you to lead with influence and credibility.
  • You have a track record of being able to identify and solve complex problems, owning solutions from start to finish.
  • You have successfully implemented and/or managed global compensation programs across the US, APJ, and EMEA. You understand locational nuances, best practices, and are able to successfully obtain buy-in, and communicate change in a global, virtual environment.
