*Minimum Qualifications:*Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
*Preferred Qualifications:*Bachelor's degree. Working knowledge of PeopleAdmin and PeopleSoft systems.
*Position Summary:*The Associate Director of Human Resources will help with the efficient and effective operation of the Athletic Association's human resources unit. The individual will oversee professional development functions and talent management strategies. Strategies include recruitment and retention, onboarding and offboarding, talent development and performance management, employee succession planning, and other related human resources functions. Responsibilities are varied and complex involving a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, independent judgement and initiative.
*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:*Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals, customers and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists. Ability to prioritize tasks and projects to ensure timely completion without reminders. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

*Duties/Responsibilities:**Talent Management*

* Develop recruiting strategies and implementation plans to identify talent to fill positions within the UGA Athletic Association.
* Work with hiring managers to create strategic job descriptions to maximize productivity and achieve department goals.
* Prescreen candidates to include review of applicant pool to determine suitable candidates. Manage confidential communication during the interview process. Provide regular updates and feedback to hiring managers. Verify and conduct reference checks as needed.
* Identify and manage effective recruiting tools, which may include social media platforms, advertising on industry websites, employee referrals, etc.
* Conduct benchmarking within the athletic industry regarding salary, recruitment, and retention.

*Duties/Responsibilities:**Employee Onboarding:*

* Oversee the onboarding and orientation initiatives for all new full-time employees. Support new employees through the onboarding process and ensure open communication and transparency.
* Maintain strong working relationship with the Athletics Compliance office to ensure proper verifications for sports-specific staff.
* Maintain open communication with Campus HR unit to ensure timely processing of all new hires.
* Verify new employees have been assigned UGA credentials; have received correspondence from Central HR; enrolled in benefits and retirement; and employee record has been created in OneUSG Connect (PeopleSoft).
* Prepare new employee information packets and ensure that all information provided is kept up-to-date and accurate.

* Ensure that position descriptions are kept current and work with hiring managers upon employee departure to analyze job duties and responsibilities.
* Submit position edits in a timely manner using UGAJobs (PeopleSoft) and consult with Campus HR as needed.
* Conduct benchmarking within the athletic industry to analyze working titles and organizational structure.

* Facilitate development programs to achieve and maintain competitive advantage through specialized professional development.
* Assist in the organization of internal training and development opportunities including: orientation, in-service training, education, personal and professional development.
* Provide oversight for mentoring, coaching, and team building initiatives.
* Oversee special employee events to include planning, invitations, management of event budget, contacting vendors, selecting locations, coordinating awards, supplies, gifts, etc.
