Subrogation Collection Specialist

As a third-party claims administrator, this Subrogation Collection Specialist will evaluate, and process complex subrogation claims for specialty recovery for the insurance industry.

Essentials

• Research, evaluate and process all aspects of subrogation claims.
• Prepare and conduct investigations, correspondence with attorneys and insurance companies.
• Negotiate claims and collection settlement subject to the client's approval.
• Guide claims through process, document and conducts review of losses to determine potential for each claim.
• Prepare investigative correspondence for each file, acquire background information, and support documentation for each case.
• Secure itemization of damages on claims and verify correspondence to file.
• Obtain statements from witnesses and other adverse parties.
• Establish initial contact with claimants, insurance carriers and the attorneys of our intent of recovery and provide assistance for litigation cases.
• Provide agreements for release and monthly payment contracts with claimant.
• Work closely with adjusters to maintain active and accurate reporting to clients.

Skills

• Knowledge of state and federal liability statutes including subrogation practice of claims.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills to exercise considerable independent judgment in negotiating settlements.
• Deal tactfully and courteously with claimants, insurance representatives, and attorneys.
• Analyze facts and exercise sound judgment to make value-based decisions.
• Excellent time management to plan, organize and work independently under minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Three years of experience handling litigated subrogation claims.
• Collection background a plus.
• High school diploma, college degree preferred.
