As our first Manager, Indirect Tax, you will play a critical role in supporting the tax function for the company. This is a unique opportunity to strategically build and scale the indirect tax side of the tax function. Figma is full of smart, humble and collaborative people. It is a great time to join as you will be building the function as the company is in a hyper growth mode at the same time. You will report to the VP of Tax.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

Assist with reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual Sales and Use Tax filings, GST/VAT and preparing other domestic and international non-income based tax filings
Manage indirect tax planning and reserves
Manage and oversee indirect tax rates, tax classification and exemption documentation
Review and approve monthly use tax accruals, journal entries and related supporting documentation
Provide timely insights on indirect tax regulations, trends and risks relating to our industry.
Manage all aspects of sales tax audit
Manage relationships with internal engineers and IT contacts for system management and information requests
Perform legal research and analysis on a variety of state/local and international indirect tax projects, draft memorandum and indirect tax policies

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred
7+ years of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience with focus on US indirect tax as well as international indirect tax
Experience in interacting with tax auditors, audit defense
Experience in sales and use tax preparation and reviews
Excellent project management and strong analytical skills
Excellent computer skills - advanced Excel, Avalara, NetSuite, Workday
High energy, high motivation and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
Strong research and analytical skills
Demonstrate attention to detail, great time management and organization skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
