Senior Accountant

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! As a member of our team, you will collaborate with talented people who have a passion for cryptocurrency and changing the way the world buys and pays for goods and services.

This role also offers the unique opportunity for the right candidate to work on both sides of accounting and finance - they will be part of the team that closes the month, but then also work with the VP FP&A to analyze performance and build analysis / forecasts for the business through the year.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform month-end close functions (importing and reconciling cryptocurrency data into Netsuite)
• Help the compliance team with the financial information for the company's state and regulatory filings
• Create and produce financial monthly and ad-hoc reports and dashboards analyzing company performance an help provide analysis and insights on the data
• Assist with quarterly re-forecasts and annual budgeting process
• Assist with implementing and documenting internal controls
• Assist with year-end audit requests
• Participate in special projects, as required

Qualifications and Skills

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Must be fully versed in understanding financial statements - ideally will have produced financial statements in the past
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups, filters and pivot tables (not macros)
• Team player with an appetite to learn new skills and improve how we work as a team as BitPay grows
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Foreign currency experience
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency
• Experience with accounting reporting automation is a plus
• Enjoy a fast-paced & collaborative working environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA or on track for CPA required
