As a financial institution moving billions of GBP of customer money in over 70 countries, Wise must have bulletproof financials. We need timely, accurate and scalable financial data to be compliant with regulations and make accurate business decisions inside the company. Due to continued and rapid growth we're looking for a Regulatory Reporting Specialist to join the team. Jointly with the Regulatory Reporting team and Regional Controllers, you will own the responsibility of working with existing and new regulators, which is a key function for Wise. This role gives a great entry point to the world of Wise, as well as the chance to be at the very fundamental regulatory focused part of the business.

Your mission:

  • Reporting capabilities are essential to steer the ship in the right direction, which comply with regulatory and financial requirements.
  • Work with Prudential Controller, Regional Controllers & Compliance teams to help build compliant reports to submit to regulatory authorities.
  • Work with Business Intelligence team to help create accurate reporting automatically from the source systems with clear definitions and change management.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and yearly reports for submitting to regulatory authorities and help analyse financial results, making sure necessary controls are performed.
  • Work with the Prudential Controller, Compliance teams and Regional Controllers from around the world to provide all the necessary financial data during regulatory exams and audits.
  • Put together ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Ensure all financial reports are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

A bit about you:

  • Prior experience in regulatory and capital reporting in financial services.
  • Experience in working with large datasets and building financial reports for businesses like ours.
  • An Excel/spreadsheet specialist and an ability to pick up new systems quickly.
  • Advanced financial and/or data reporting and analytical skills.
  • Dealt with internal or external stakeholders (preferably regulators) on a regular basis, communicating reports, definitions, requirements etc.
  • You are accurate and detail oriented, great at finishing detailed jobs and meeting deadlines.
  • Prior experience in either financial reporting, controlling, audit or management accounting. Familiar with PnLs, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements would be an advantage.
  • You are open to self-development, willing to gain experience, improve your skills and keen to learn new tricks.
  • You are a self-starter and can organise your own work.

Job Specification:

  • Work with Regulatory Reporting team, Compliance and Regional Controllers to help build compliant reports to submit to regulatory authorities.
  • Work with Business Intelligence team to help create accurate reporting automatically from the source systems with clear definitions and change management.
  • Work with product finance onboarding teams to ensure accurate and complete transaction flows according to the regulatory requirements.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for submitting to regulatory authorities.
  • Be able to discuss and work with a variety of stakeholders (data analysts, product engineers, compliance and financial controllers).
  • Put together ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Ensure all regulatory reports are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting processes and controls are clearly documented for each output.
  • Help Regulatory Reporting team grow by contributing to process and system improvements to create a well-functioning and controlled global risk environment.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • As a first step take over periodical regulatory reporting for the UAE, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
  • Stay up to date with new regulatory requirements as well as new product and licence launches.
  • Update the reporting tracker on a weekly basis and the operational tracker monthly. Make sure all reporting outputs are reviewed and validated.
  • Document detailed guidelines for compiling regulatory reports.
  • Improve the control framework for each output. Help figure out how we can validate and control non-closed data.
  • Together with Reporting Specialist and Regional Controllers make sure key reporting requirements for data are being accurately extracted and defined in the finance database (metrics, parameters etc.).
  • Help define risks around regulatory reporting in Asia together with Compliance to document risk framework and potential consequences.
  • Help define data accuracy requirements and thresholds.
  • Provide required reports during audit reviews.
  • Be the point of contact for ad hoc regulatory reporting requests for APAC and Asia.
