Overview

Ethos is seeking a highly motivated Payroll Specialist with public company and/or start-up experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing to support Ethos as we continue to rapidly scale.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Payroll Manager with multi-state, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now
  • Process time cards for non-exempt employee population
  • Calculate prorated and retroactive wages
  • Reconcile employee change reports
  • Manage Time Off request approvals and reporting
  • Process new hire, termination, and Leave of Absence transactions
  • Provide customer service to employee and stakeholder inquiries through the shared Payroll mailbox
  • Track equity for new hires and refresh grants
  • Prepare off-cycle payments
  • Track notices from tax agencies using ADP Smart Compliance software
  • Regularly communicate with the People team to ensure an efficient workflow of information
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be a committed and dedicated team player with excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and a strong attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate well with the organization's mostly remote staff
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with multi-state payroll required
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
