Description of the role

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our team. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing the monthly management accounts for Beauty Pie Ltd and Beauty Pie USA, with the support of our Junior Management Accountant and Finance Assistant
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
  • Working closely with the wider accounting team, reviewing journals, reconciliations & analysis prepared by them
  • Working with the wider Beauty Pie team to ensure that all costs are captured accurately
  • Autonomously helping to drive the development of our growing team & business, improving processes to enhance our output, bringing efficiencies and insight to our financial performance.
  • Involvement in statutory reporting and legislative requirements
  • Being a key point of contact with our auditors, helping with the preparation of the annual Financial Statements and assisting with us achieving an efficient audit process
  • Responsible for VAT. Completion of the quarterly VAT Returns, monitoring and developing internal compliance and keeping up to date of any changes to VAT
  • Approval of all purchase orders below ?5,000
  • Prepare departmental reporting and variance analysis partnering with teams across the business to understand costs and performance and drive collective insight
  • Working with our People team and the Financial controller on the monthly payroll processes and liaising with our third-party payroll providers
  • Involvement in projects aimed at driving growth and improving processes
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Support the wider finance teams (tax, treasury & FP&A etc) with cross functional projects and process improvements

Requirements

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with 2 years+ post-qualification experience
  • Experience in industry, with e-commerce and/or beauty backgrounds being beneficial but not essential
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills and driven by being accurate
  • Energy and ambition to make a difference to a business going through an exciting period of change and growth
  • Experience of NetSuite would be beneficial
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Excel and willing to learn more
  • Experience with multi-currency balance sheet reconciliations
  • A self-starter who will own processes from start to finish, make improvements to them and is willing to question the status quo
  • An individual who continually strives to improve output and processes

Our interview process

First, you will meet the hiring manager for a 45 minute chat about all things Beauty Pie, the role and specifically the team you have applied to work with.

Remember, interviews are a two way thing - so use each stage as an opportunity to ask away any questions you may have for us too!

  • Next, you will meet another member (or two!) of the team you will be working with.
  • This will be a similar format as your first interview, where we will assess your skills and experience along with key competencies for the role.
  • Finally, our culture and values are our DNA, which is why every Beauty Pie member finishes our process with a light hearted culture fit interview. This is a chance for you to really get a glimpse into what it's like to work with us. Our advice for this stage? Just have fun!
