Financial Controller UK

We are looking for an independent and result-oriented qualified Financial Controller to sit within the Group Finance Control team in London with a focus on process optimisation, consolidation and financial accounting.

Ideally, you will have experience working in the finance function of a financial institution and will need to be someone with vision who will tackle any problem as well as the ability to roll your sleeves up and get involved.

What you'll be doing

• Key member of the team responsible for all aspects of group financial control
• Deliver process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process - both via automation and control
• Coordinating the group's tax accounting and strategy
• Oversight of the day-to-day running of finance and engagement / coordination with both central and overseas financial control teams
• Support rapid global expansion of group finance function, assisting in the establishment of local finance teams
• Driver to building a scalable and efficient global accounting and finance function including KPI's and SLA's to delivery to overseas teams
• A leading team member as part of the group external audit process, ensuring a timely and effective engagement

What you'll need

• Post qualified experience in group finance functions, preferably with experience within a financial service company within cross-functional and multi-national teams
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or equivalent)
• Strong accounting knowledge, with proven experience within IFRS
• Direct and indirect tax experience in a multinational group
• Strong experience of month end close, functional reporting and preparation of statutory account
• Proven project management experience and skills
• Experience and passion for process optimisation and automation

Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Knowledge of SQL strongly preferred
