Missions

Alan is on a mission to transform healthcare. In the Finance team, we are a small and lean team (3 people, including the CFO), thinking out of the box and with automated and optimised processes.

We are looking for :

  • a junior or up to 3 years experience profile
  • with good knowledge in both accounting and financial planning
  • with basic knowledge in programming (SQL)

Detailed missions:

  • Own and ensure our accounts are closed in a timely manner in France, new countries (Spain, Belgium and soon more) and new entities.
  • Produce on-time reliable financial information to comply with our legal obligations (shareholders, tax administration, regulator, etc.),
  • Produce financial communication and reporting, interact with our IT and financial auditors
  • Take part in the preparation of the 2021 Budget and the development of our Financial planning and analysis monitoring.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day administrative tasks.

Key outcomes by 1 year

  • We are able to produce consolidated financial accounts at D+7
  • We are able to monitor our accounts vs our budget on a rolling basis
  • We are able to build our financial reporting at D+7
  • Our finance tech stack is maintained and documented
  • We have built the tools to support and monitor strategical decisions
  • You would have also supported the CFO and other Senior Alaners by either owning and delivering on a high-volume and broad range of topics or acted as project coordinator to strategic company project (M&A, fundraising, budget planning etc...).
  • Doing so, you will interact with most of Alan's communities.

Profile & competencies

Hard skills

  • Accounting: Good knowledge of French accounting. Knowledge of consolidated and/or insurance accounting would be a significant plus.
  • Programming: Basic knowledge in SQL. Basic knowledge (ability to read) in Python, JS would be a plus.
  • Experience in Finance, Audit, Venture Capital or insurance would be highly valued.

Soft skills/ Behavioural traits

  • Ownership: We handle topics that involve numerous stakeholders and that are vital to the company. We are therefore looking for someone able to 1/own his/her topics to make sure they are heading in the right direction, 2/ knows when to call for help and 3/ is not shy of calling for support
  • Team player: The Finance team is small (5 people), we therefore need someone who can prioritise between his/her topics and the Finance team / the Company's priorities.
  • Out of the box thinking: We don't do things one way because everyone does it that way. We always try to take a step back and think how we can do things differently, better.
  • Communication: We often handle topics with tight deadlines and/or where multiple stakeholders are involved. Over communication is key to delivering.
  • Interest in the Fintech ecosystem and highly motivated in contributing to the growth of Alan.

Types of profiles

  • Major in Management, Finance or double degree Engineer & Business
  • Bac+5 (Master 2) graduated from Master Degree
  • Has realised at least one internship in Finance
  • Any experience at a top tech/Fintech/Banking/Audit/Insurance company would be valuable.
  • Some evidence of interest in tech and the start-up/entrepreneurial world through internships, side projects, or choice of options at university

Languages

  • Fluency in spoken and written English. All our communications are written and in English.
  • Fluent French preferred as we interact with French-speaker counterparts as well
