We've adopted a "continuous close" approach that allows us to have a speedy 3-day monthly close while maintaining our "customer service" reputation, AND still have bandwidth to knock out bigger key priorities.

We like to say that accountants aren't boring people, we just get excited over boring things. We're on the lookout for someone that can match our passion for breaking through the status quo of accounting. This includes things like optimizing our monthly close, reporting, tax compliance, audit preparations, etc.

  • Own the day-to-day management of all accounting activities including preparation and/or review of journal entries, inter-company transactions, account reconciliations, etc.
  • Oversee and contribute to the monthly 3-day accounting close, driving timely completion and ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Coach and develop a team, conducting regular 1:1s and crafting opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Support and mature our finance enablement programs to reduce friction and elevate our customer service for our internal stakeholders.
  • Build out efficient and scalable accounting processes and systems implementation to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial results (for example: roll out of multi-entity/ multi-currency and global consolidation modules to support international expansion).
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company's system of internal controls with the goal of meeting public company requirements over time.
  • Act as a key point of contact for our external auditors; coordinate and assist in driving the execution of year end audit procedures and requests throughout the year.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies, thresholds and procedures (for example, introduction of ASC 842 Lease Accounting and ASC 730 R&D Capitalization).

  • Be a champion of our speedy 3-day accounting close
  • Prepare and/or review day-to-day accounting activities including preparation, review of journal entries, intercompany transactions, consolidations, eliminations, and account reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual variance analysis to ensure financial statement results accurately reflect business activity and are in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Building out efficient and scalable accounting processes including systems implementation to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial results (for example: roll out of multi-entity/ multi-currency and global consolidation modules in Sage Intacct)
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company's system of internal controls on our road to IPO readiness.
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies, thresholds and procedures (for example, introduction of ASC 842
  • Lease Accounting and ASC 730 R&D Capitalization)
  • Partners cross functionally to analyze accounting impacts of anticipated business transactions.
  • Support corporate operational processes including accounts payable, payroll and equity admin as needed

Additional notes

  • While our headquarters are located in Herndon, VA, we are open to those based remotely who can make periodic trips to the office.
  • The base salary range for this role is between $100,000 USD and $144,000 USD + bonus eligibility and equity.
