Site Reliability Engineer

Evervault is a technology company building the encryption engine for the web, so that developers never touch sensitive data in plaintext and can isolate the code that processes it from the rest of their stack.

Our mission is to encrypt the web; our goal is zero data breaches, and our end-state is everything encrypted everywhere.

Because we're building encryption infrastructure we need to be world-class at encryption, and world-class at infrastructure. We're hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to focus on Evervault's infrastructure. You'll be working with Rust, Node.js, AWS, Terraform, Packer CDK, Github Actions.

The role

• Develop a multi-cloud, multi-region deployment platform using new technologies such as Trusted Execution Environments (TEE's) and new languages like Rust.
• Working with engineering teams to better understand production systems and how they can improve core reliability metrics.
• Engage in an operations focused engineering culture, continually practising operational reviews and defining incident response strategies.
• Maintaining, building and providing an infrastructure platform to engineering teams that meets the highest standards of compliance (PCI-DSS Level 1, SOC-2) with Infrastructure as Code.
• Introspection of production systems to help ensure and improve the company's customer facing SLA's. Working closely with engineering teams to better the responsiveness and stability of Evervault's global encryption services.

You may be a fit for this role if you

• Enjoy and have experience building distributed systems and/or networks.
• Have 3+ years experience in Site Reliability Engineering.
• Developed and improved CI/CD pipelines with Github Actions/Gitlab, some experience with custom runners.
• Have a deep understanding of systems running on the internet at scale AWS VPC, Latency Routing, Lambda, ECS, EC2, SQS, SNS, GAX or Azure/GCP equivalents.
• Can work in both software engineering and operations, building custom solutions to ensure the reliability of systems and helping out with other projects every now and then.
• Hold yourself and others to a high bar and enjoy variety in your work.
• Take pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
• Thrive in a collaborative environment with people from different backgrounds

Nice to have

It's not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all of these areas. For example, our stack includes Rust and Node.js, built on top of AWS - but very few people would have that exact production experience.
