As the Spendesk customer base grows, our platform scales up and new features are developed, the need for Site Reliability Engineering becomes vital. We are currently searching for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform team of 3 engineers.

The team is led by Victor Demonchy, based in France and mainly working remotely with the team meeting at the Paris office. As a SRE, you will primarily focus on providing a robust and scalable platform to host Spendesk services, as well as ensuring the good health of our infrastructure and applications. Since the team directly supports the development teams internally, you will also be responsible for ensuring a smooth developer experience from local environments all the way to production.

Working closely with other teams in the Product, Data & Engineering (PDE) organisation requires good communication skills, being inquisitive and a problem solver. You will work with your team to define and implement the roadmap with quarterly objectives. In addition, you will be expected to put the monitoring/observability principles at the core of our engineering culture. Your Mission:

  • As a Site Reliability Engineer, your mission will be to help the Platform team to support the fast growth of the company by removing the friction of application deployment in the engineering department.
  • You will contribute to provide software developers with all the necessary tools, processes and good practices to push an application into production with the right level of automation, monitoring, scalability, security and efficiency.
  • Build a robust & scalable infrastructure to host Spendesk services developed by the product teams.
  • Provide the means to ensure the good health of our infrastructure and services and share good practices.
  • Smooth out the developer experience to move their applications from a local environment all the way to production.

Who we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in the SRE, Production or Systems Engineering fields
  • Experience in building and maintaining distributed systems based on Kubernetes and containers
  • Working with at least one of the major cloud providers (ideally AWS)
  • Experience with infrastructure and application observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana...)
  • Good knowledge in coding/scripting (NodeJS, Go, Python, Bash...) and config/automation frameworks (Terraform, Kustomize, Helm...)
  • Eager to learn, share knowledge and advocate for good practices with your peers
  • Fluent in written and spoken English - we're an international company and this is our main business language
