An SRE empowers developers to release their software running on infrastructure that they maintain using tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform and monitor using CloudWatch and DataDog. • Are adept at implementing cloud best practices, for deployment, security, and monitoring
  • Have extensive experience with AWS
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of networking concepts such as VPCs, firewalls, TCP stacks, and similar concepts
  • Know your way around the AWS console, but prefer the command line and tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • Are happy to take part in the on-call rotation, document issues that come up so that they are easier to resolve in the future, and spend time working to make sure that you rarely get paged.
  • Have opinions about how to make the VidMob infrastructure more scalable, reliable, and secure. You can effectively communicate those ideas and back them up with data.
  • Feel comfortable performing post-incident reviews to make sure problems do not recur.
  • Are adept at documenting, mentoring, and training team members in following SRE best practices, including Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and continuous deployment.
