Summary:
Seeking Senior Hyper-Converge Infrastructure (HCI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support SIPRNet Enterprise Modernization Team in the operations and maintenance of HCI configuration and any other related system items. This position is in support of a 24/7/365 Enterprise Management Center, which will require on call requirements and some shift work. Position is designated as "Mission Essential".

Job Responsibilities:
Perform daily operations of the Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) to manage compute and storage operations, to include remote provisioning of compliant virtualized hosting services. Diverse background in supporting enterprise IT data centers, highly desired
Deep technical depth and hands-on expertise in data center technologies including virtualized storage, computing and networking, network virtualization and orchestration; strong knowledge of Storage, L2/L3 protocols, and VxLAN
Activities include, but are not limited to:
? Operate and maintain servers, (Windows and Linux are a plus), storage, backup, and Dell EMC Hyper-Converged VxRail system
? Patch and upgrade system configurations and provide expertise for storage, and server virtualization technologies including: Dell VxRail, vSAN, VMware, and data protection
? Provide successful assessments, upgrades, knowledge transfer and documentation for Air Force customer
Automate network setup using Smart Fabric Services for VxRail automating the network setup and accelerating deployment
Create operational and installation manuals for the Enterprise Management Center to facilitate ease of service and transfer knowledge to the service agents
Strong technical understanding of technology, including the various hardware (Dell - VxRAIL, Integrated Data Protection Appliances), software (VMware, Windows, Avamar, BMC suite, Solarwinds), and networking systems
Support Tier 2 and 3 services; Resolve more complex issues requiring detailed systems and applications knowledge;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with patience, a customer-friendly attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment; Collaborate effectively with other staff to solve complex problems

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or 5 years equivalent experience with virtualized environments
Minimum of 3 years' experience operating the Dell HCI VxRail system
Expert level VMware 6.5 and above knowledge
Proficiency and experience with VMware Products, like vSphere and vSAN
Dell Server and Storage experience
VMware NSX-T experience is desirable
VMware SRM and vRealize Automation Orchestration is a plus
Effective oral and written communications
Travel requirement - 25% first year or as needed
