WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR . . .

Versus Systems is looking for a devops engineer to be an inhouse expert on cloud infrastructure best practices. This individual will work with engineers from multiple teams as infrastructure needs arise, and work towards building better tools to build and monitor our products suite.

Our stacks include a Javascript application backed by Redis and Mongo running on Azure Functions and an Elixir application backed by Mnesia and Postgres running on GCP Compute Engine.

We're a collaborative team with a strong product and engineering culture. We value partnership and creativity. Every engineer contributes to the overall development process, product design, and roadmap of the company.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR DAY . . .

As the first dedicated devops engineer, you'll work with developers across the company to understand and improve upon anything in your field of expertise. This will include revising build and deployment pipelines and improving the scaling story around products that have large single events as well as oscillating continuous traffic. Your time will also be spent honing how we monitor and alert across our products to increase visibility, reduce noise and false alarms, and aid with debugging efforts.

• GCP (Compute Engine, SQL, Network Services, BigQuery)
• Azure (Cache for Redis, Cosmos DB, Functions)
• Terraform
• Javascript
• Elixir
• Datadog

YOU WILL HAVE . . .

• 5+ years of professional, paid experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud based infrastructure
• The ability to provide guidance and feedback on GCP and Azure infrastructure
• An in-depth knowledge of at least one cloud host (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Autonomy, initiative, and self motivation with a 'get it done' attitude
• A preference for Agile methodologies, rapid prototyping, and team collaboration
• The ability to give and receive feedback with grace
• A clear, thoughtful communication style that lends itself to working with collaborative teams

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE . . .

• A background in the entertainment, media, gaming, and/or adtech industry
• Experience with scaling and high-availability systems in multiple regions
• Experience with Azure and/or GCP
