As part of the BriteTech IT leadership team, you will contribute to the design, innovation, and development of our global IT infrastructure. In this position you will bring a broad IT skill set with deep understanding of all the layers of IT technologies and systems and will champion best of class IT systems design broadly to multiple departments, stakeholders, and decision makers across the organization. As a BriteTech IT leader, you will help inspire, mentor, and lead an amazing team of engineers as we strive to make a positive impact on our customers and the business.

THE TEAM

The Eventbrite IT team, or BriteTech as we are fondly referred to internally, is responsible for overseeing all internal technical operations. From network services, security and collaboration services, to espresso machines over IP, BriteTech's goals are to simply reduce technical friction in an effort to nurture an environment where technology empowers and supports the creativity of our Britelings! There are a number of services, software, and hardware solutions required to create a productive and collaborative environment for our Britelings and partners. Creating and supporting this environment takes a team of motivated individuals. We build the internal technology environment around the pillars of efficiency, security and user-centricity. THE ROLE

As the Leader of the BriteTech Systems Team, you'll bring a deep understanding of all the layers of IT technologies and systems with hands-on experience in developing solutions and processes with state-of-art technologies. You will collaborate with IT and other functions such as TPM, Procurement, Security, and Finance to build consensus on key IT architecture decisions, lead new IT initiatives from a technical aspect from concept to operations, establish best practices for IT solution architectures, guide teams towards world class solutions through persuasion and supportive leadership, and evaluate and select optimal IT solutions for IT and other functions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Drive best practices in solution building including build vs buy decisions.
Serve as IT Systems evangelist to multiple teams and stakeholders, building a network of trust and buy-in in the organization.
Mentor BriteTech team members under your leadership to improve their overall skillset and ensure that they have a career path to enable continuous improvement and career growth.
Provide leadership and remove roadblocks for BriteTech team members that will enable them to be able to perform at the highest level.
Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders on IT-related initiatives and projects
Identify and implement any new technology or upgrades necessary to provide our users with an amazing IT experience.
Lead engagements with technology vendors for mutual success, acting as inter-departmental IT consultant on all new vendor evaluations.
Investigate and recommend emerging technologies as needed, develop prototypes, and work with other members of the BriteTech leadership team on implementing new IT systems and architecture.
Create technical designs and stand up new services, then help guide other members of IT who will be maintaining these services.
Build and develop new tools and services as needed to empower IT and other partner teams.
Collaborate with peers to write, review, and provide feedback on a technical specification.

THE SKILL SET

    • 5+ years of experience as an IT & People leader.
    • 3+ years of Enterprise level IT experience following industry best practices.
    • Project management and leadership skills
    • Track record in working with senior leaders and executives
    • Deep understanding of MDM frameworks and technologies (Jamf, AirWatch, InTune)
    • Experience with SSO technologies and integrations
    • Experience in supporting multiple concurrent projects
    • Experience providing oversight of skilled IT resources and coordinating tasks with other leadership
    • Track record in delivering solutions from concept to operations
    • Working knowledge of solution development / devops methodologies
    • Experience managing and architecting Okta, Active Directory or other similar Identity Management platforms
    • Experience and passion for scripting and programming (Javascript, Python, Bash, or similar)
    • Must have solid relationship management skills
    • Able to motivate and direct staff members and subordinates
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
    • Experience with vendor management and vetting products and services
    • A track record for documenting all things and communicating clearly and exceptionally

BONUS POINTS

    • Bachelors in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred
    • Certifications in enterprise architecture, AWS / Google / Microsoft / Apple is a plus
    • Certifications in Cisco or other Network vendors is a plus
    • Knowledge of ITIL/COBIT methodologies; certifications preferred
    • Experience with Cloud LDAP providers
