About the Role
Ready to shape the future of talent and performance where employees aren't just essential - they're valued? As our Lead Performance and Talent Manager, you'll be the creative force behind programs and tools that help our managers, HRBPs, and employees bring out their best, grow their careers, and feel the impact they're making here at Thumbtack. You'll lead the charge in shaping our talent ecosystem, influencing who we are now and who we're aiming to be. Reporting to our VP of HR, you'll be a key player on the People Partnership & Development (PP&D) team, our crew dedicated to fostering a high-performing, healthy, and inclusive culture that everyone wants to be part of. This role is more than just a job, it's your chance to make a real mark on people's careers and our Thumbtack community.
What you'll need

- 8+ years of experience in Performance Management, Talent Management, or related roles within People Teams
- Proven experience in building and implementing performance and talent management programs, including performance management frameworks, systems and tools, career criteria architecture, and manager enablement.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Learning & Development, HRBPs, Compensation and People Analytics to create cohesive strategies driven by data and insights
- Excellent program and project management skills, with the ability to scope, plan, and execute multiple initiatives on time and at a high standard
- Exceptional interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and manage cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong ability to independently write and produce visual content to a high standard, translating complex concepts into clear, compelling materials
Bonus points if you have
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments where adaptability and change management are essential
- Background in developing or refining performance and talent programs within a global organization
- Experience with human-centered or iterative design methodologies in HR program development and implementation
- Experience with the Betterworks tool for performance management

For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $ 194,400 - $237,600. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $165,240 - $201,960. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
