About this role:

As our first Director of IT, you will be responsible for both IT Systems and IT Operations Support. You'll inherit a great team, and build for the future. We're looking for someone that embodies excellent customer service and support and is excited to help scale our growing company.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work with key business and technical stakeholders leveraging change management skills to inspire, lead, and define Kong's Global IT strategy.
  • Hire, train and develop the IT team to deliver customer-centric solutions with a focus on operational excellence, reliability, and automation
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and best practices with regards to IT support, security, and operations
  • Ensure Kong's day to day IT operations are addressing the needs of our global workforce and are operating from a strong security and compliance position.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor and partner relationships and agreements
  • Work across IT (internal and with strategic partners) to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of IT Processes and internal controls
  • Ensure timely response and SLA's are met for Kong's IT Ticket Queue
  • Design, streamline and optimize ways in which Kong' s global workforce interfaces with IT and obtains support.
  • Deploy and support core IT systems like MDM solutions(JAMF, and Intune) Google Apps, Okta, Zoom, Slack, and other company-wide tools.
  • Build and evolve systems to operationalize new hire procurement, asset management, and security & compliance requirements
  • Ensure Kongers are connected by maintaining on-site networks and virtual networks to help people collaborate and access information in a secure manner, with low latency and low user-friction
  • Collaborate with Compliance, InfoSec and other cross-functional partners to define and execute on an IT roadmap to increase internal productivity while maintaining high security security
  • Partner with Talent, People Operations, and Employee Experience to deliver world class onboarding /off-boarding at all major touch points.
  • Develop procedures, processes, DR plans, instructions and other materials as necessary.

What You'll Bring

  • 4 years of experience working in an IT Operations, Support, Helpdesk role.
  • Experience with administration of Google Workspace, Slack and Zoom
  • Experience with administration of Okta: SSO, IDM and Role Based Access
  • Experience with administration of Atlassian: Jira Software, JSM, Confluence
  • Experience with MDM maintenance: JAMF and Intune
  • Experience working with Compliance and Infosec teams; with audits such as SOC-2 Type 2 & ISO 27001
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems (macOS, Windows 10/11, Linux Ubuntu), network (Meraki), systems administration, and phone systems (future)
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Good grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Desire to succeed tempered by maturity and a good sense of humor.
  • Experience working with remote teams while using tools such as Slack or Zoom to support remotely
