What you will be doing

• Responsible for building the core infrastructure that Codat uses to build services, network, security, compute, storage, all hosted in Azure
• Along with SRE, ensure that engineering teams are aware of current capabilities and help build recommendations to refine and develop those capabilities
• Using your understanding of the company's targets and technology to make recommendations on the best practice and approaches that will allow our software to scale to meet those targets
• Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders in the engineering organisation
• We are fast moving into an infrastructure as code first environment and you will be owning core infrastructure, and advising teams on best practices, as well as building tooling to make that journey easier

We have built devOps into the culture of engineering at Codat, we champion cross functional teams that operate as owners and operators of the services and features they look after. Allowing those teams to do this at pace and build best-in-class implementations that scale with the fast growing business requires policies and tools refined by experts.

DevOps engineers at Codat work alongside feature teams and technical leaders to help provide the platform for scale. They are active participants in looking forward over the horizon, finding pinch points along with SREs and assessing the technology landscape to make sure we are always using the best tools for the job. This means building the infrastructure to support the internet of SMB data.

What excites us

• Professional experience in a software engineering organisation, experience from different industries will be considered
• Able to operate within tight deadlines on multiple tasks and projects
• Able to build relationships with technical and non technical stakeholders within the engineering function
• Passion for Terraform and automation tools. Knowledge of Azure including the PaaS and IaaS offerings from Microsoft is a bonus
• Being data driven and excited to teach others about what you know and have learned
