About This Role

Our current system is maintained collectively by our engineers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to level up the current system, and standardize the architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a motivated, highly collaborative, team-first group of individuals to build out the system and processes to power Bright Cellars for years to come.

What You'll Do:

  • Implement systems-level infrastructure improvements to drive a high degree of reliability, scalability, and security
  • Maintain and support our production applications as needed
  • Identify and implement improvements to our CI / CD process (e.g. test automation frameworks and performance enhancements)
  • Work with the engineering team to identify and create standards / best practices to improve the team's velocity, reduce production issues, and improve morale
  • Stress test / instrument the system, identify bottlenecks, and address potential performance issues before they're actual issues
  • Perform system improvements with minimal downtime and perform rollbacks as needed

Experience We're Looking For:

  • 4+ years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer or equivalent
  • Startup experience a huge plus
  • AWS - EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CodeDeploy, etc.
  • Docker containers (k8s a plus)
  • CI/CD experience (CircleCI preferred)
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform preferred)
  • Proficient in at least 1 scripting language (Python preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of optimizing web platforms a plus (nginx, php-fpm, CDN, ReactJS, MySQL, etc)
