About The Role:
The design team at Aalto is growing and we are looking for a senior product designer to help envision and craft the product experience. This role will set vision, shape strategy, and design online/offline multi-channel experiences for our growing marketplace. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to play a formative role in an early stage startup.
This role can be performed as fully remote or in a hybrid capacity. A majority of the Aalto team is located around the Bay area with flexibility to work from home or the office. For those located in The Bay area, we do have an office (with ample parking) as an option in the Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco, but there is no daily requirement to be present. We want to empower our employees to do their best work, whether that's collaborating in person with co-workers, focus time at home, or both! Nearly all team members work Pacific hours.

What You'll Do:
- Immerse with current and future customers to understand their needs and identify opportunities for our business.
- Work alongside product, content design, and engineering to align on problems, ideate on solutions, and ship products.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops, sprints, critiques, and other exercises to brainstorm, gather feedback, and improve designs.
- Create customer journey maps, information architecture diagrams, interaction flows, wireframes, and pixel-perfect mockups to articulate design solutions.
- Share and showcase your work to company leadership, peers, and the broader industry.
Who You Are:
- Seasoned designer with 5+ years experience shipping impactful products alongside PMs and engineers on in-house teams.
- Strategic thinker who can solve problems across a multi-channel, online/offline consumer experience.
- Versatile designer who can flex across strategy, service design, UX, and UI.
- Detail-oriented craftsperson who creates clean, innovative, and delightful design.
- Self-guided and autonomous operator who needs little oversight to identify, initiate, and deliver high quality work.
- Resourceful, biased toward action, and excited about the opportunity to work in an early stage startup.
- Evangelist for design who will help establish a design-first culture within a fast-growing company.
