  • Born under the sun of Montpellier, we are also present in Paris and Sao Paulo (yes, yes, you read that right )!
  • We are looking for a Design Director based in Paris, Montpellier, or in full remote from Europe.

Your future position :

Design at Swile is at the heart of our strategy since day one, as part of our choice to put the user at the center of our concerns. We have a team of passionate Product Designer, involved in all aspects of the product development process, whether B2B or B2C and thus participate in our strong strategic development. Our leitmotif: satisfy the Swile users!

You will have a direct impact on the overall strategy and vision, you participate in the definition of the product roadmap, and you guarantee a design and user centric culture.

You will report to Thijs, our CPO and be the direct manager of 9 Product Designers, and the team is likely to grow. You will help your team develop into the next generation of design and research leaders. You will also help them perform at their best, enabling the teams to grow and learn. You will work with the team to attract, recruit and retain the best talent.

Your role will consist of:

  • Manage a team of Product Designers and support the scaling
  • Developing and maintaining our design culture
  • Defining and leading the global product design strategy to maximize its impact
  • Strengthening the link between design and other functions
  • Structuring design processes
  • The challenge will be to gain in velocity / release a lot of products + opening of countries

It will be a perfect match if :

  • You are a design director or head of design with potential, leadership and inspirational
  • You have significant managerial experience with a team of designers in a Saas design-centric company and have excellent strategic thinking skills
  • You have solid experience in managing an international team in a hyper-growth environment
  • You are an user-centric focusYou have experience building and operationalizing a design system.
  • You know how to manage several subjects at once while knowing how to switch quickly
  • You are a problem solver
  • You have excellent communication skills (written and verbally) in English with French being a big plus
  • On top of all that, you have experience in a tech startup or scaleup and have already had a product designer role yourself, this is the perfect match.

Our hiring process :

  • Video Screen : 45 minutes (Tech Recruiter x Candidate)
  • Experience interview: 1h with Thijs, our CPO and your future Manager, to dig into the role and the Design Team needs.
  • Design interview with 2 product designers
  • Swile interview: 45 minutes / During this stage all our Swilers can be called in and contribute to a skills assessment of candidates (focus on culture and values). Interviewers will be able to meet candidates without cognitive bias and have constructive feedback on their interpersonal skills and know-how. Involving all of our employees in the success of our hiring process is an integral part of our culture and values
  • Final Round: 1h with Seb, VP People
