We're hiring a Director of Demand Generation to help us grow dbt into a globally recognized and loved software brand. This role will lead and grow our Field Marketing, Partner Marketing, and Global Campaigns teams. Demand Gen will will own our multi-channel campaign strategy aimed to grow our marketable database and generate pipeline. This includes aligning messages across email, social media, virtual and in-person events, content marketing, and digital advertising. In addition to Marketing, the demand generation leader will work closely with our with our Revenue, Partnerships, Operations, and Data teams to create a center of excellence for generating product demand.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive and global demand generation strategy that drives revenue growth and builds brand awareness.
  • Lead the Field, Partner and Integrated Marketing teams. You'll lead an existing team of marketers located all over the world and be expected to recruit strong talent.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, brand, and, sales teams to develop compelling content and messaging that resonates with our target audience.
  • Create and execute multi-channel campaigns that generate leads, including email, social media, webinars, content marketing, and digital advertising. Develop these into a portfolio of offers that have predictable results.
  • Manage the lead generation process from start to finish, including lead capture, nurturing, and qualification.
  • Optimize lead conversion rates and lead quality by continuously testing and refining our demand generation programs.
  • Own and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of our demand generation programs and make data-driven decisions to improve results.

You are a good fit if you:

  • Are a seasoned team builder and people manager/developer, ideally global teams.
  • Are extremely comfortable working in data in tools like Looker, Salesforce, etc to find business insights. Being able to self-serve the basics and then work with Ops to go deeper is critical.
  • Demonstrable success running multi-channel demand generation campaigns, including email, social media, webinars, in-person events, content marketing, and digital advertising
  • Have heavy experiences working along side an SDR org for incredible campaign followup results. This is a critical partnership and this individual needs to bring demonstrable experience to the table here.
  • Experience managing to a budget and showing ROI of that spend

You'll have an edge if:

  • You have previous experience with developer or data products - CI/CD, git, open source software - and the ability to use dbt. Learning the language and challenges of this audience takes time! Marketers joining our team with existing context in these areas ramp in 3 months vs. 6-9 months.
  • You have previous experience marketing in a product led growth context. Again, this is all about speed. Like all PLG companies, our growth is dependent on a massive, engaged user base. We expect a leader coming in with only enterprise marketing context will have a closer to 6-9 month ramp time.
  • Your default mode is "write about it" vs. "talk about it". Ok yes, we do have meetings, team off-sites, and enjoy actual dialogue :) But we're a remote team located around the world and that does require different ways of working. If you love pre-reads before a meeting, thoughtful analysis, and organizing your thoughts in a document vs. a presentation - you'll do very well here.
