We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Platform Team. The Data Platform team focuses on delivering reliable data from our transactional stores to our datalake while managing the infrastructure and tools for our analytics engineers, data analysts, data scientists and other engineering teams to run their data pipelines in a reliable manner.

We work with cutting edge modern frameworks, technologies, and cloud-based infrastructure and create scalable solutions that empower users. Data Platform defines the processes and systems for one of the fastest-growing online companies in Europe.

In your role, you will:

  • Design, implement, deliver and manage highly scalable solutions based on modern cloud-based architectures
  • Be accountable for technical specifications and execution in the daily work of the team
  • Identify opportunities and implement best practices to continuously improve our existing solutions
  • Participate in scaling and upgrading our services to meet an increasing global demand
  • Participate in introducing new technologies and ways of working to keep us well ahead of our market
  • Mentor Engineers to develop their technical skills

We are looking for people with:

  • A strong foundation in building robust and scalable Big Data solutions on AWS or GCP (batch and streaming)
  • Deep internal understanding of managing and optimizing core data infrastructure (i.e. BigQuery, Airflow, Kafka, NoSQL and SQL databases), beyond just writing ETL pipelines, ideally using Python
  • Understanding of Data Governance best practices and tools
  • Comfortable with automation and DevOps methodologies (i.e. CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Observability)
  • Great analytical and critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to present your ideas clearly and compellingly in both verbal and written form
  • Experience communicating closely with users and other technical teams
  • Familiarity with agile ways of working
  • Ability to be pragmatic, get things done, and pick up new tools and technologies quickly
  • Motivation to deliver quality results in an agile, collaborative, ever-evolving environment
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and query authoring (SQL)
  • Experience designing and building serverless/event-driven architectures, REST APIs
  • Interest in the latest trends and technologies in Big Data (i.e. Data Mesh, DBT)
  • Managing a Druid cluster is a plus
