Check is a payroll-as-a-service API that lets you embed payroll directly in your vertical SaaS, HR, or time-tracking platform. Our API abstracts away the complexities of running payroll: tax calculation, remittance, and filing, plus the movement of money between companies and employees. This enables companies to easily build fully integrated payroll products to offer to their customers.

Support ensures that Check's partners and customers receive rapid resolutions on their product and payroll related questions and concerns. Support also contributes to building resources that deliver value in perpetuity, like internal and external documentation. Additionally, they partner with our R&D, Payroll Operations, and Revenue teams to unblock partners by utilizing their problem solving expertise, strength in communication, and quick thinking.

In this role, you will:

  • Troubleshoot inquiries which require in-depth investigation and the application of payroll industry knowledge, including topics like ACH transfers, tax applicability, fraud, etc.
  • Immerse yourself in learning all about our product, gaining expertise in how our systems work and identifying how to resolve issues
  • Provide support to our partners through various mediums, including support tickets, chat, and Slack
  • Contribute to our internal and public documentation
  • Frequently communicate with stakeholders in a clear, empathetic, and patient manner
  • Learn the in's and out's of complex subject areas in the payroll, human resources, and finance industries
  • Help design and build the future of Support at Check

Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:

  • 2+ years of experience in Customer Support, Product Support, any customer-facing role in a startup environment
  • Some experience in a payroll, human relations, finance, or other payroll-adjacent industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adept at simplifying complexities in a kind and clear manner
  • An ability to use deductive and inductive reasoning to work through complex issues
  • Confidence operating in both an independent and a team environment where you'll need to make decision under limited supervision and also collaborate cross functionally
  • Enjoys creating connection and developing relationship with internal and external stakeholders

What we offer:

The expected annual salary for this role is between $75,000 and $95,000, dependent upon each candidate's unique experience and qualifications.
