Learning and Development Partner

cargo.one

Remote job description

What's the opportunity?

At cargo.one a growth mindset - a desire to constantly learn and improve - is a cornerstone of our culture. We've assembled a diverse and globally distributed team who share a common desire; being better tomorrow than they were today.

So far, much of that development has been informal and peer to peer. We are looking for someone who can introduce some structure, consistency and scalability to how we learn. Someone who can thoughtfully consider how meaningful, personalised development and coaching can happen in a fully remote environment. Drawing on both internal and external experts, you'll work closely with our business leaders to shape exciting career paths for our team, and ensure that each person has the support and skills to get there.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partnering with our team leads and company leadership, you'll guide iteration on our team-specific career frameworks and make sure that company-wide levelling is calibrated. Ultimately, you'll be a key driver in nurturing internal mobility across cargo.one.
  • Training others to develop and deliver their own materials, unlocking the internal knowledge and expertise that already exists within the team.
  • Working with our legal team to ensure local market mandatory training stays compliant and regularly completed.
  • Design, develop and deliver a valuable training curriculum to our growing cohort of managers (both new and experienced) to prepare them for current and future challenges. This may be supplemented with 1:1 coaching of leaders, depending on experience.
  • Supporting entrepreneur in residence, working student and internship programmes to identify, retain and accelerate high potential talent.
  • Working with our sales teams on sales academy training to support different go-to-market motions.
  • Further developing our company onboarding resources, and making sure that team onboarding meets a consistent quality standard.
  • Testing psychometric profiling and other tools to identify potential talent and transferable capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain a tracking and approval process for training budgets.
  • Maintaining our learning management system.
  • Measure and present insights into training effectiveness, using this to constantly improve our approach to development.

What you'll need:

  • Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment, primarily designing effective learning programmes on a budget rather than relying on substantial outsourcing to partners
  • Previous experience in a People or specifically Learning and Development role where you were responsible for training design, development, delivery and facilitation
  • An interest in organisational/occupational psychology, psychometrics and/or a range of talent identification methodologies
  • Leadership coaching experience
  • Fluency in the English language (both written and verbal). You're skilled at breaking down complex topics in a relatable way.
  • A prior track record of delivering a career or competency framework project
  • A strong desire to innovate and develop blended learning experiences
  • A healthy dose of curiosity
  • Experience working with Lessonly or a similar learning management system would be a bonus
